Crypto sectors slide across the board as AI segment drops 5.09% and BTC falls below $81,000 intraday
Crypto markets moved lower across nearly every major sector on Oct. 9, according to SoSoValue data, with most 24-hour losses ranging from about 2% to 6%. The AI segment posted a 5.09% decline, making it one of the weaker areas of the market. Within that group, Bittensor (TAO) fell 7.27%, Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) dropped 8.34%, and Venice Token (VVV) lost 10.24%, while SoSoValue (SOSO) moved against the broader trend and gained 13.11%.
Among large-cap assets, Bitcoin (BTC) was down 1.55% and slipped below $81,000 during intraday trading. Ethereum (ETH) fell 3.88% and dropped under $2,500. Other sectors also posted losses, including Layer2, PayFi, DeFi, CeFi, Meme, and Layer1, though Starknet (STRK) rose 21.98% in the Layer2 category and 币安人生 climbed 7.15% intraday in the Meme segment. Sector indexes tracking historical market performance also weakened, with ssiAI, ssiMeme, and ssiNFT down 7.15%, 5.41%, and 4.89%, respectively.
